6-12-2020 Mr. John W.

Mr. John W. owed the state of North Carolina over $320,000 for tax years 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013.  The taxpayer had also not filed his 2018 tax return.  John was a physician with his own practice. His ex-wife had managed the finances of the business and as a result, he was not aware of the debt until 2014.  John had been struggling since 2014 to clear the debt in order to relieve his stress and enjoy his retirement.  Our first job was to make sure that the taxpayer was in compliance and that all of the returns had been filed.  Once the client became compliant, our office immediately placed the account out of collections, worked on an Offer for the state and had an acceptance for the client in less than 10 months in the amount of $10,000.00.  Lifeback Tax was able to settle the taxpayer balance from $320,000 to $10,000 in less than 10 months.

6-28-19 Washington

Mrs. Washington owed the IRS over $26,000.00 in back taxes for tax years 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014. The taxpayer also had missing tax for tax year 2015 and 2016. Ms. Washington has been through some tough hardship with her husband's accident which resulted in decline in income since the taxpayer's were self-employed. Lifeback Tax got the client in current compliance and placed the account in hardship with the IRS. Next, the Offer In Compromise (OIC) was submitted on behalf of the taxpayer and settled for $4,058.00. Mrs. Washington was a great candidate for OIC for the state of South Caroline (SC) but, per the state of SC rule, the tax debt balance has to be over $10,000.00 in order to the state to entertain an offer. However, Lifeback Tax did obtain an abatement of penalties for the client for the state. Bruce and his wife owed the IRS over $588,000.00. When the client initially came on board, he was assigned to an IRS Revenue Officer (RO). We were successfully able to place his account on the currently non collectible (CNC) status with the IRS. Afterwards, we filed an Offer In Compromise (OIC) and settled his tax debt for $3,180.00. The taxpayer has 120 day to pay off the settled amount. Once the offer amount has been paid, all the federal tax liens will be released by the IRS.

7-2-2019 Potts

M. Potts owed the State of Maryland (MD) in back taxes over $22,000.00. Life back Tax settled his tax debt with the state of $2,000.00. When the client came on board with us, they owed for tax years 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2012. The client was also missing tax years 2006 and 2007. The client filed his 2006 and 2007 tax year and paid off any pending balance because of the state of MD Offer In Compromise (OIC) rule which clear states that each assessment must be two years or older. All the assessments were older than two years except for 2006 and 2007. Once the client was able to pay off his balance for tax year 2006 and 2007, we submitted an OIC for the client, which was accepted for $2,000.00. Lifeback Tax helped client get this life back by settling his tax debt but educating the client on the importance of compliance and filing tax returns timely.

Mr. Procel was current with the filing of all his tax returns. Mr. Procel's file was approved for hardship followed by an Offer In Compromise (OIC) application. Initially, the OIC was rejected because the taxpayer had rental property with buildup equity. Lifeback Tax appealed the OIC rejected and it was accepted in OIC appeals for $1,000.00. Our team fought hard for our client and got his life back. Lifeback Tax was also successful in getting client's offer accepted $2,000.00 on a smaller debt.
