In a recent court case of Jones v. Mnuchin 2021 PTC 61 (S.D. Ga. 2021), the defendant Mr. Jones was denied passport services due to the Internal Service Revenue (IRS)'s ruling of the defendant's serious delinquent debt. Under Code Sec. 7345, there is no fundamental right to international travel especially considering the defendant's severe delinquent tax debt. Additionally, Code Sec. 7345 the government's legitimate interest in collecting the defendant's unpaid tax debt directly correlates to the revocation of passport services. (Source.)
